Still Nothin'

Just thought I'd check in and complain that we still haven't gotten a new battery charger. I'm heading to my Grandma's house in Logan, Utah later this week for Thanksgiving and I'll have to borrow some batteries from my parents so I can still take pictures.

I'm pretty excited to go to my Grandma's, but I always am. I used to go all the time growing up, but then I got older and had to get a job to pay for stuff, and that doesn't always allow me to just head down to my grandma's!  I love my Grandma. She's so cute. :)

My camera doesn't work right now, but that doesn't mean we aren't capturing things. We have a lot more videos now (Which I can't load onto my laptop because the usb ports don't work...lol But, Kelly's brother can do it and put them on a disc for us.) and I've still got my camera phone, and other people taking pictures. so this post wont be picture-less. (But they do center around Clyde...)

We went to a cold Pug Meet on Saturday, so we bundled him up...

He was still pretty cold though, so his Uncle Dan tried to keep him warm.

This one is from my phone, this was his first time in the snow!

I have a video of Clyde catching snowflakes from the other night that I'll have to try and load. It's way cute. Maggie's doing good, she's still playing with Clyde and still loves food. I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but we also got her spayed last month, and she recovered nicely. :)

Here's Maggie at the Pug Meet. Thanks to Sam for taking the pictures and uploading them on the meetup site! :)

Brodie is still Brodie and he loves to play. Now that it's getting too cold to take him out to play, we still have to accommadate his energy, so we throw his mesh ball down the stairs so he has to run down and then up them. It gets him tired quicker. :)

Okay, this is totally a picture from one of my first posts, but I thought I'd post it again.

And since I'm adding old pictures, I'll add these two of little Clyde. :)

Okay, that should make up for not having a camera. Hopefully next week I'll actually have some pictures to post. Have a great Thanksgiving!!! :)

Batteries Not Included...

Okay, so I put newly charged batteries in my camera this weekend, and then when I wanted to take a picture, my camera wouldn't turn on. So, our battery charger is dead, and we need to get a new one. I could go to the store and buy some regular batteries, but I'm kind of cheap.

But, last weekend was my birthday weekend (yep, here we have birthday weekends, not just a day. :) ) so we had big plans, but none of them really worked out. We did them this weekend though, but of course - a dead camera can't capture that...

So here's we we did do last weekend:

Last Friday, we decided it might be fun to go catch a high school football game at Bronco Stadium. Like I said, I'm cheap - high school games are $6, while a BSU game is, well, a lot more than that. I used to march in the Blue Thunder Marching Band at BSU, so the stadium isn't anything new to me, but we still thought it would be fun to go. We watched the first half of the Capital High School vs Boise High School game, but left at halftime (no marching band show... :( ) when the score was 42 - 0, with Capital winning. (I did hear that Boise made a touchdown, though. LOL) If the high school state championships end up being at the stadium (I guess it depends who is playing) we are going to try to go to that game. It's pretty fun.

Hehe, I have my high school colored blanket at another schools game. :) (They do play against each other...)

See? We were there. :)

On Saturday we had Pug-O-Ween, which I already posted about, and then that night we went to The Farmstead, which is a Corn Maze in Meridian.

 A big chair...

They had this bouncy thing, and I think it's for kids, but we went on it anyway.

We cut through this one part and got totally lost - it was great. :)

Sunday was my birthday. It rained all day and we couldn't race the go karts at Wahooz, so we got a rain check for my free birthday pass and went this past weekend. Also, I had a free movie ticket, but we missed all the decent times, so we went and saw Megamind this weekend. I liked it, and recommend it.

Like I've said before, I've been a little obsessed with wedding planning, we don't even have a venue yet! We are looking at April 16th as the date, but we are on a tight budget, so it's hard to find a decent venue. I've got a few in mind, and once we sign a contract, all the other ideas in my head will hopefully come together. I can't wait! :) :) :)

Pug-O-Ween

Pug-O-Ween was on Saturday 10/30, and we love going every year. It's the most attended pug meet of the whole year and it's so fun to see all the dogs in costumes!

This year Maggie was a hot dog, Clyde was ketchup and Brodie was mustard. :) Brodie was too busy running around to really get a picture of him, so he's not in our picture under the sign. (or really any...)

Brodie's mustard costume looked just like Clyde's ketchup one, except it was yellow and said mustard on it.

Olive came with her family so we had a little family reunion and took some pictures with Royce, Maggie, Clyde and Olive. I hope Izzy's (Elsie) family can make it to a pug meet sometime.

Olive is a wild girl! She was so excited to be there and so crazy to hold, I loved it! Clyde was growling at her! I think he was a little overwhelmed at the amount of dogs at Pug-O-Ween and seeing them all in costumes made him nervous, but it was kind of funny he was growling, it was almost like he remembered that he was the runt and got picked on, lol!

She just wanted to give kisses!

Our friends that have a Pug and Boston Terrier also dressed thier Boston Terrier up as a Pug. :)

This guy is the best Boston Terrier around! He's so cute and well behaved!

I tried to get a picture of Maggie, Brodie and Clyde all together in the back of the car, but this is all I could get.

Pug-O-Ween was fun this year, and I'm already looking forward to next year!

Whoo Hoo!

We got a new car!!! It's a 2011 Scion xB. We've been saving for a new car for a year and a half and were finally able to get it last week. We were either going to get a Mazda3, Mazda CX-7 or a Scion xB, but when I test drove the Mazda3, my back started to hurt, and with my scoliosis, that's an important thing. We thought about the Mazda CX-7, and we test drove it and really liked it, but there were a few things we couldn't figure out with reviews and things (it wasn't Consumer Reports recommended, but then they changed the motor to one that was recommended, but we couldn't find an updated review).

We looked at maybe getting a Toyota Camry, but I'll tell you, I have never felt so cramped in a car. I couldn't believe how small the inside of the Camry was. We sat inside of a Corolla, and it was a little better, but then we sat in the Scion and it's so roomy inside! With 3 dogs, it's exactly what we need!

Clyde likes it. :) Okay, well he doesn't like having to sit in the back, but he'll get used to it.

We went to Walmart the other day and saw a rainbow, so I had to take a picture of my car with the rainbow behind it. :)

Goin' to the...

Chapel and we're gonna get married!!!

That's right! After 6 years together, we're making it official! We don't have a lot of official plans yet, but I have my dress! We are thinking of sometime in the spring - March or April. There's a chance we might set it for December though. It just might be easier to have the wedding around Christmas for family coming. We'll have to see what we can figure out.

Kelly hasn't officially proposed yet,  (but I have a birthday next weekend...lol) but a couple weeks ago we went to every jewelry store in the mall and picked out one that I like at each. The two it came down to was an antique looking one, and the more modern looking one that I got. I love it! :)

We took engagement pictures last weekend. The picture at the top is a zoomed in, cropped photo of one of the pictures. This one:

I was talking to a friend at work, Natasha, who got married last year, about pictures, and she mentioned how she had a really nice camera, so instead of paying close to $100 for an engagement session, we headed out last Sunday afternoon to two beautiful places in Boise - Kathryn Albertson Park and the Boise Depot. Here's a few of my favorite ones.

Out of 217 pictures, we chose 32 poses we liked, I was just going to put 3 or 4, but I couldn't decide out of the 32. I was glad that she had such a nice camera, and that I have a bit of studio photography experience so I knew a few poses, lol.

I've been a little obssessd with wedding planning and not really paying attention to blogging. I was waiting until I was able to call my Grandma and tell her about the engagement before I really put it out there in the open. I hope my cousins understand. :)

I'm so excited to be married to such a great, good lookin' guy! I love him so much! :)

She Loves Her Baby Boy

I was sitting on the couch the other day and looked over and saw this. :) I had to get up very slowly and get my camera (it was in the dining room - right next to the kitchen, a puggie's favorite place - they know when you're in the kitchen.)

They woke up after a few flashes, so I got this really cute picture.

Then they fell right back asleep. :)

She really does love her baby. We've always thought she favored him ever since he was born. She seemed to pay special attention to him, and now they he is permanent in our house, I'm pretty sure she loves it. Not all the time, though - she does get fed up with him every once in a while. He will go play with her and she'll just growl at him, lol! We love him, too. :)

Where's Clyde?

Can you see him? He loooves to go over and sit under the grapevines. There have been a couple times that we would let the dogs out, and then be ready to go inside and we wouldn't be able to find Clyde, lol! We figured it out, though ad now we know where to look. He's a silly boy. :)

He likes to try and eat the leaves. :)

It's Not In My Genes...

Yeah, so I'm not so good at golfing... We went to the driving range on Sunday to hit some golf balls and I was hoping that maybe it would be in my genes since my grandpa was a great golfer, and so is my dad - he even hit a hole in one when he was younger! (I remember a newspaper clipping about it... but it's not online - I looked...)

Do you see in the picture above that I swung the club and the ball is still there? Yeah, I apparently need some lessons. We've gone before and I didn't do too bad, but this time, not so good.

But, look - no ball! I did hit the ball a few times! We had fun though, it started to rain a little bit, but it didn't bother us. Kelly did pretty good, he is much better than me, lol.

Do you see the rainbow behind him? That was probably the best part - because I am SORE today!  But, we still had fun. I'll leave you with the rainbow. :)

Twinkie's Tongue Contest

Twinkie has a tongue contest that I've heard about. I had never seen Twinkie's site before, but it seems interesting. I think I'd like to enter! I have a couple good pictures of Maggie with her tongue out from Halloween a couple years ago, here they are!

She's VERY cute! And, yes, that is a birth mark on her tongue. :)

The Weekend

I haven't posted for a week because we didn't really do a whole lot this past weekend. We went to a Pug Meet on Saturday and the only good thing (besides some good conversation) was that we saw Olive!

Isn't she getting so big?! As soon as I saw them show up, I ran towards them. :) She is growing very well and is happy and healthy. She was very wiggly (just like a puppy should be) and this was the best picture I got of her. It was soo good to see her! I also got an update on Elsie ( now Izzy ) - her owners boss is a regularr at the Pug Meets, and told me that he got to see Izzy a little while ago and said she is happy and healthy also, so that was great to hear. Izzy's owner has to work nights on the weekend, so it's not easy for her to try and make it to a Pug Meet on Saturday.

And that's all the good that happened at the Pug Meet. Clyde had fun, but unfortunately Maggie got attacked by some big dogs that were passing by. She's okay, but ended up with a puncture wound on her shoulder from a muzzled mouth. I was so mad, and poor Maggie was shaken the rest of the day. About 10 minutes after that happened, a lady brought Brodie to us with a bloody paw - he had too much fun, and had almost knocked a nail off his paw! Like I've said before - it's not unusual for Brodie to get hurt, he just plays too hard. We take him out to the park and if we don't go to the park, we make sure to play with him at home, but he just can't ever get enough. We've actually given him a pill to make him more relaxed a couple times, but we don't really like to do that.

So, on to other things, Friday night we finally got Clyde a tag and earlier in the week, we picked up a collar for him to wear around. We want him to be a harness dog, but he's to big for a small harness, and too small for a medium, so he will have to wear a collar until he grows some. (Yes, we still have the harness we got him, but it's been to warm to have him wear it.)

Love this guy! :)

I'm determined to keep him in Argyle. :) We got the collar from Target, and I went to PetSmart to make the tag and they have a new machine that will do both sides. So I was able to put his name in a cool font on the front and I put my phone number on the back. I've always liked it better that way.

I've been trying to take individual pictures of them so I can get some 8x10's up of them, so I've kept my camera with me more than usual. I've gotten a few good ones.

(I had to blur my phone number out on his tag - don't really want that for everyone to see - lol)

Maggie goes outside and just lays on the deck, and Clyde has started to sit next to her. I love this picture, but he looks giant!

I like this one, but it's kind of at a weird angle.

This one's good, but Clyde wanted to be in it. :)

And the baby. :) (I blurred out my number again :) )

I like the last one of Clyde, but I think the tag ruins it, so I'll just try again this weekend. It's very hard to get a picture of Brodie, I've said before - he just doesn't take good pictures, normally when I tel him to sit, he cries because he thinks it's for a toy or something.

Speaking of Brodie, as you know, he loves his toys. I got a pretty funny picture the other day. A small toy had gone under the couch and he was laying there whining for someone to get it out, so I stuck my camera under there to take a picture. :) Sometimes Clyde will go get it for himself, and then Brodie will take it from him, lol.

Can you see him? Sorry, I think it's funny. Hehe :)

We also cleaned out the garage to make some room for Kelly's weight set and my treadmill, and an exciting new toy that may or may not be joining us by my birthday next month....

Two trips to the dump like this -

Hehe :)

When we moved in last year, we kept tons of stuff we thought we might need, but a lot of it, of course was never used, and the old couch was really dirty, so to the dump it went.

Okay, one more cute picture of Clyde and then I'm done... Goodness, for an uneventful weekend, I sure did post a lot of stuff... Oh boy... Sorry 'bout that.

This might end up as his 8x10...
